As a result of your dedication to our customers, and their encouraging recommendations, we have added three new campus stores, Cisco College, Vernon College, and Cameron University.
Cisco and Vernon College selected Texas Book Company as their inaugural management partner because of our reputation for personal service and our success at transitioning institutionally operated stores to a lease-managed operation. Our corporate mission of agility and flexibility distinguished us from our competitors and gave these two colleges the confidence to trust us with their stores’ future.
Cisco College in Cisco, Texas, was established in 1940. Classes are offered at two primary locations, Cisco and Abilene, and we will operate a full-time store in both locations. The Cisco store will undergo a major renovation in a new location in the campus student center. Mike Applegate, will lead the Cisco College team.
Vernon College in Vernon, Texas, a relatively young college, marked its beginning in 1970. During the 1975-76 academic year, the College expanded its services to include a learning center on Sheppard Air Force Base. In 2004 the College purchased the Century City Center, Wichita Falls, to expand the College’s academic and career & technical education programs in the Wichita Falls area. James Mencer and his team will operate two full-time locations for Vernon College.
Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, began in 1908 as one of six agricultural high schools. In the years since the University has gone through population growth, World War II, and several name changes to become Cameron University in 1974. Cameron offers nearly 50 degrees through two-year, four-year and graduate programs. Texas Book Company was selected to replace one of our competitors because of our reputation for excellent service, responsive communication, and expert corporate leadership. James Mencer will lead the Cameron University team.
